McDowell Creek Watershed
Location: Northwestern Mecklenburg County including parts of Cornelius and western Huntersville

A unique creek: Records indicate the creek was named for John McDowell who settled along the banks in 1753. Population of this watershed increased 468 percent from 1990 to 2010.

Name game: Caldwell Station Creek is sometimes confused with Caldwell Creek. Caldwell Station is part of the McDowell Watershed. Caldwell Creek is in east Charlotte and in the Reedy Creek Watershed.
