A unique creek: Largest amount of land and most miles of stream of any Charlotte-Mecklenburg watershed. McAlpine was originally called “McAlpins Creek.”
Name game: Irvins Creek and Irwin Creek are often confused. Irvins Creek flows into McAlpine in southeast Charlotte. Irwin Creek is on Charlotte's northwest side.
