Park Road Park Pond

The Park Road Park Pond is an existing in-line wet pond within an unnamed tributary to Little Sugar Creek. The 6.6-acre wet pond receives runoff from both commercial and residential land uses within a 440-acre watershed. The problems associated with the existing pond include a failing water riser pipe at the outlet structure, sedimentation, and excessive geese populations. The project calls for the dredging of the pond and repair of the riser pipe. In addition, the possibility of creating a wetland forebay, littoral shelf and adding vegetated buffer areas for geese control and water quality enhancement are being evaluated.
