Floodplain regulations apply to land shown on official floodplain maps. Because Charlotte-Mecklenburg is updating its floodplain maps, language in local floodplain regulations is also being revised. The City of Charlotte adopted revisions to its Floodplain Ordinance in 2012. Ordinances in the six towns are being revised in anticipation of the new maps becoming official.
