​Park and Rec's Halloween and Fall Activities Offer a Scary Good Time for All


HalloweenJoin Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation for a wide variety of spooky and fun events this Halloween and autumn. Events are offered for the entire family at several Park and Rec locations:

Fall Festival with a Cajun Flair
Romare Bearden Park, 300 S. Church St. Charlotte
Saturday, Oct 17, noon to 7 p.m.
Bring the entire family and enjoy pumpkin carving, family activities, Cajun food, live music and more!

Nature at Night Festival
McDowell Nature Center, 15222 York Road, Charlotte
Saturday, Oct 17, 5 to 9 p.m.
$5/person, ages 2-under FREE, pre-registration required
The event includes live animals, crafts, night hikes, hayrides, hotdogs, s’ mores, storytelling and much more!

Haunted Greenway and Boo Bash Carnival
Arbor Glen Outreach Center, 1520 Clanton Road, Charlotte
Friday, Oct. 23, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
$5 trail ride ticket
Boo Bash Carnival is FREE
Take a ride on the biggest, scariest haunted greenway trail and enjoy the Boo Bash Carnival for fun, games and entertainment! Children and teens are invited to dress in their favorite costumes for the costume contest.

Ray’s Halloween Carnival and Haunted Tour
Ray’s Splash Planet, 215 N. Sycamore St., Charlotte
Friday, Oct. 30, 6:30 to 9 p.m.
$2 for carnival, $3 for haunted tour (FREE for children 2 - under)
Join Ray’s Splash Planet for a spook-tacular haunted tour through the facility or the kid-friendly carnival in the gym! A howling fun time is promised for the entire family! Costumes encouraged.
