Emergency, Community, and Energy Services offers aid through churches and community agency referrals to residents who are facing a hardship*. Residents who receive these services are typically facing a shortage in food and medicine and/or financial crisis dealing with heating/cooling cost. Services may also assist with residents who are facing tax foreclosure, late mortgage and rent payments. Other services offered include transportation assistance for individuals looking for or have employment and those in need of burial assistance.
For families/individuals - who are in need of immediate assistance or are at risk of tax foreclosures.
* NOTE: Clients facing an emergency utility situation are encouraged to go to Crisis Assistance Ministry who operates the Crisis Intervention Program on behalf of Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services.
Individuals needing assistance should visit the DSS Main Office (301 Billingsley Road, Charlotte, NC) or West Charlotte location (3205 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC) and ask for Partnership Services at the front desk.
