During the 2012 school year, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools took the plunge and decided to recycle their large volume of milk and juice cartons. After receiving the 2011 Community Waste Reduction and Recycling Grant and one year of hard work and determination, CMS has recovered an astonishing 8,000,000 milk and juice cartons.
CMS has now gained national recognition for their Milk/Juice Carton Recycling program. It was one of the first programs of its magnitude on the East Coast and we are looking to expand the program further in the upcoming years.
