EggstravaganzaEaster Egg Hunt: Friday, April 3 
The Annual Easter Egg Hunt, a free, family-friendly event featuring music, face-painters, balloon twisters, activities, arts and crafts, and a dash to gather colorful Easter eggs on the “Big Moon” lawn.

Music Box LunchMusic Box Lunch: April-October:

Hats Off to ParksHats Off to Parks: Friday, May 1,  5 - 9 p.m.
Hats Off to Parks, an annual event that raises money for Mecklenburg County park projects. With music for listening and dancing, a silent auction, and mouth-watering food and beverages, this is the premier event for friends and supporters of our Parks.

  • Individual seating at tables - $50
  • Individual lawn seating - $25 (Bring your own chair)

Romare FestRomare Fest: Saturday, May 2
Romare Fest, a free, Saturday festival featuring nationally known and regional musical acts, art and family-friendly activities to kick off the season’s cultural happenings at Romare Bearden Park. This year’s Romare Fest will present the legendary alt-rock quartet The Spin Doctors.

Party in the ParkParty in the Park: May-September
Party in the Park, free weekly music concerts that make Romare Bearden Park the place to be on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. This “Uptown Sound” series features different genres of music, including Party Bands, Jazz and Rock, Country and Carolina Beach Music, and exciting Tribute Bands. Guests are invited to bring a picnic and lawn chairs or a blanket as they enjoy the music and the friendly ambiance of the park.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Romare Fitness Kick OffFit in '15

Romare Bearden Park will host a kick-off event for its Fit in 15 fitness program on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The program will offer a variety of free fitness classes including Bootcamp, Zumba, Yoga and much more! 

The schedule below provides the date and time for each program. You will also notice a brief description of each class.

Romare Fitness class scheduleBootcamp:  Circuit training, athletic drills, and challenging body weight strength work. This option is right for the client that enjoys a challenging, high energy, strength and cardio, group program. Those individuals that need to take their workout to the next level will enjoy this program. (Intermediate to advanced)

Zumba :  Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.  (all fitness levels)

Insanity: Its time to push past your limits with plyometrics and nonstop interval of strength, power and resistance and core training.

The Werk Out: Sassy athletic dance fitness class to reggatone, hip hop, pop and Latin beats. Bring a towel and water if you are ready to WERK?

Rise Flow Yoga:  Start your day with this invigorating practice! This practice designed restore the nervous system and help relax deeply held tensions from the body and mind.  Flow through a series of postures to rejuvenate the body.

Tabata: The Tabata protocol is a high-intensity training regimen that produces remarkable results. A Tabata workout is an interval training cycle of 20 seconds of maximum intensity exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated without pause 8 times for a total of four minutes.  Tabata, is cardio, core, strength training all done interval style.  (Intermediate to advanced)
