Future of Park & Rec Facilities

The Park and Recreation 10 Year Master Plan (2008-2018) reflects citizens' desire for more parks, recreation and nature preserves.

Voters passed $250-million in Park and Recreation bonds on November 4, 2008. While the recession created a three year delay for many projects, the county has rebounded and as of May 2015 over 35 Park and Recreation capital projects are in design or under construction.

In 2013 the department once again surveyed residents and updated the master plan. The updated master plan can be found here, and a brief presentation of the updated master plan can be found here.  All appendices can be found here.

The department plans to update the master plan every 5-6 years.
