The Marion Diehl Recreation Center opened its doors to the citizens of Charlotte in 1980. It is named in honor of Mr. F. Marion Diehl who served as the Director of Charlotte Parks and recreation Department for many years. The center provides year round recreational programs for persons with or without disabilities.
This center is situated on 82 acres of land and includes a multi-purpose room, kitchen area, paved walking trail, outdoor playground, and a full size gymnasium. It also features a 25-meter by 6-lane warm pool, beach entry to a 2.5 foot wading pool and rooms. We offer a variety of programs and classes including specialized instruction for adults and children with physical disabilities!

Youth Athletics:
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year. All youth athletics programs are Recreation Center based and take place at various parks and recreation centers throughout Mecklenburg County. Zumba
Let's Zumba! This Latin-dance inspired fitness class uses international rhythms and dance moves for an invigorating and exciting workout! All fitness levels welcome. For more information please contact Johana Valencia at 704-491-8188
Martial Arts: Tora Ha Kempo:
Classes for children (4+) and classes for adults. Learn martial arts in a fun but disciplined environment. Wednesdays at 6pm. Cost is $5 per class. Contact Kevin Hinson for availability and information at 704-533-2994.
Senior/Adult Badminton:
Fun active and social program for all levels. Wednesdays 5pm - 7pm, Saturdays 12pm-2pm. Cost is $2/day or $41/year pass for Adults ages 18 - 54, and $1/day or $31/year pass for Adults 55 and older. For more information, contact Marion Diehl Recreation Center at 704-432-0237.
Senior Volleyball:
Fun active and social program for all levels. Mondays 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Cost is $2 per visit or you can purchase an annual pass for $31. For more information, contact Marion Diehl Recreation Center at 704-432-0237.
Senior 4 on 4 Basketball:
Seniors, stay active, stay fit, be social, have fun! Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Cost is $1 per day. For more information contact Ivan Cohen at 704-432-0237.
4-H Homeschool/P.E.:
Students will use 4-H curriculum and complete a variety of activities in areas of plants, animals, foods, citizenship, communications, leadership and more. For more information, contact Ivan Cohen.
