County Limits Tobacco Use in Parks and Government Property
The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners has adopted a Board of Health Rule and County ordinance to limit tobacco use on government-owned property.
Commissioners -- acting as the Board of Health -- passed the rule Tuesday night, prohibiting smoking in all County-owned buildings in Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte and surrounding towns, as well as any City, County or Town vehicles, grounds, parks, greenways, or parklands.

State Health Department Confirms Passenger on Charlotte Flight Does NOT Have Ebola
On Friday, October 17, 2014 at Charlotte Douglas International Airport a passenger on a domestic US Airways flight arrived late this afternoon with a fever of approximately 100 degrees complaining of nausea and chills.

On Sept. 30, the Centers for Disease Control confirmed the first travel-associated case of Ebola to be diagnosed in the United States. There are no confirmed cases of Ebola in Mecklenburg County or in North Carolina.
