The announcement was made at the North Carolina Government Finance Officers Association Spring Conference
earlier this week.
The purpose of the award is to encourage all units of local government in North Carolina to upgrade their accounting and financial management programs, systems, methods, and procedures or improve transparency of financial operations or records.
“We are proud of the hard work and dedication of our staff in winning this award,” said Finance Director Dena Diorio. “It’s a testament to the innovation and creativity coming from the division.”
The State Treasurer’s Office will officially present the award to the County at a Board of County Commissioners
meeting this spring.
