MeckLINK Behavioral Healthcare Gets Green Light From State DHHS
2/15/2013
MeckLINK Behavioral Healthcare, a department of Mecklenburg County Government, was informed today by the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services that it has been cleared to proceed to operate fully under the 1915 (b)(c) Medicaid Waiver.

MeckLINK is designated as a Local Management Entity (LME) as well as a Managed Care Organization (MCO) preparing to manage Medicaid funding for mental health, intellectual development disabilities and/or substance abuse services.

“We are very pleased that Secretary Wos has given us the go ahead to start managing this vital funding for services to our consumers and their families,” said County Manager Harry Jones. “This recommendation is evidence that through our commitment to consumers and excellent work by dedicated staff, we are prepared to implement this important work for our community.”

MeckLINK Director Phil Endress said, “MeckLINK staff are ready to manage Medicaid behavioral health services on March 1, we will meet consumer and provider needs, and MeckLINK will be the best LME-MCO in North Carolina.”
