Mecklenburg County Internet Permit and Inspection System


Click here to Register.  To register, you will need to know your company's Permit Fee Account Number.  (To obtain permits in Mecklenburg County, you must post a surety bond with the department and receive your Permit Fee Account Number.  For information about the bond, call 704-336-3801.  For information on how to obtain a permit, contact Residential Permitting at 704-432-3119 or Commercial Permitting at 704-336-3837.)

What the System does:

The following information can be viewed through the Internet Permit & Inspection System:

  • Permits issued by address or permit number
  • Inspections scheduled and their results by permit number
  • Plan Review tracking information

The system also allows our *contractor customer to: Contractor using Online Permitting

  • Submit an application for a permit ** (see note below)
  • Schedule or cancel inspections
  • View account status
  • Assign PIN Numbers

*A contractor customer is a contractor who has a permit fee billing account set up with the Land Use & Environmental Services Agency. If you don't have a surety bond or account, contact the Revenue Collection area at 704-336-3801.

** NOTE: No commercial permit application that requires plans may be submitted via the Internet. If you are not sure whether your permit application will require plans, call our Commercial Technical Assistance Center at 704-336-3829.

Submitting a permit application via the Internet does not guarantee that the application can become a validated permit.
