T.R.U. (Tobacco Reality Unfiltered) is a youth led movement that strives to reveal the real dangers of tobacco usage through peer education, media advocacy and community leadership.

The Mecklenburg County Health Department (MCHD)- Teen Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Initiative is funded by the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund and addresses the following goal areas:

• Prevention initiation and promote quitting among youth;
• Reduce youth exposure to environmental tobacco smoke;
• Promote quitting of tobacco use among teens; and
• Eliminate disparities related to tobacco use.
