Clinical/Nursing Services |
Divison Provides immunizations, family planning, adolescent health WIC services and special health clinics, such as Tuberculosis, Refugee, Flu vaccine. Many of these services are targeted for prevention and treatment of communicable diseases in Mecklenburg County.

Division provides a variety of programs to ALL people in Mecklenburg County at churches, homes, schools, colleges, child care centers, ambulatory sites, and to the community at large. The overall goal is to improve the quality of life and health for citizens in Mecklenburg County. Services include but are not limited to: case management, education and outreach, counseling and testing, environmental policy development, home visiting, and disease prevention. Programs are targeted to high risk populations and aim to address health disparities. See the list below for program areas.

| | | Services include inspections of restaurants, meat markets, schools, foster care homes, lodging, hospitals, swimming pools, tattoo facilities, and day cares. Other services include pest management, solid waste management, lead hazard prevention, and management of water and groundwater health concerns, including well evaluations and sampling, soil evaluations, and engineering, design, and permitting of private wastewater treatment and disposal systems. Ordinances supplement state mandated programs. Adopted locally by our Board of County Commissioners acting as the Board of Health, these ordinances enhance our public health environmental health protection capabilities. > Public Health Ordinances |
