Charlotte-Mecklenburg Governmental Retirees Association
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Governmental Retirees Association (CMGRA) was chartered in 1984 to provide a forum for retired employees of the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County to unite in a close bond of mutual interest; organize social activities for retirees; generate an interest in the well-being and welfare of retirees; promote civic pride; and to encourage local officials and legislators to enact legislation which benefits local government retirees.
The CMGRA meets the fourth Tuesday of February, April, June, August, and October at 9:30 a.m. at Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church located at 101 West Sugar Creek Rd. in Charlotte (corner of West Sugar Creek Rd. and North Tryon St.). In December there is a holiday luncheon held at various locations.
