County Manager Search Narrowed to Six Candidates
On Nov. 19, 2013, the Board of County Commissioners received and reviewed information about the candidates recommended by the Search Committee for the County Manager position. Six candidates will be confidentially interviewed by the full Board at the earliest date schedules will permit. The goal is for the interviews to occur by mid-December.  Upon completion of the interviews and evaluation of the candidates, the Board will then determine the next appropriate steps in the process for selecting the new County Manager.

BOCC Sets Public Forum on County Manager Search
The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners will include public input in its search for a new County manager. At the Board’s special meeting Sept. 24, commissioners agreed to hold a public forum Oct. 15 at 6 p.m., just prior to the start of the regular meeting. The decision occurred during a County manager search update from Charlotte-based executive search firm Coleman Lew and Associates, Inc. Executive recruiters say they’ve spoken with more than 300 potential candidates and conducted five face-to-face interviews. Several others scheduled over the next few weeks. Coleman Lew + Associates will update the Board’s County Manager Search Committee Oct. 17.
