2010 Community Survey Results

As part of an ongoing effort to engage citizens in the process of local government, Mecklenburg County conducted its ninth annual Community Survey in April 2010. The telephone survey was administered in both English and Spanish to 900 residents age 18 and older. The survey gathered citizen input regarding the following areas:

  • Customer Satisfaction with County services
  • Diversity perceptions about representation, array of cultural activities and minority business representation
  • Public Awareness of County services, facilities, goals and results
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with public communication, quality of funded services, perceptions of the County as a place to live, work and recreate, and value received for tax dollars paid.

Each year the results of the survey are used to update the County’s Community and Corporate scorecard, which is how we measure results. The survey helps us gauge the County’s progress toward becoming a community of pride and choice for people to live, work and recreate.
