KCB Receives $5,000 Grant from Keep America Beautiful/UPS to Support TreesCharlotte

TreesCharlotte is a public/private collaborate effort dedicated to planting up to 15,000 trees annually, primarily through volunteer efforts.  The collaborative also educates Charlotte's residents on the importance of the canopy and ways to plant and preserve trees.

Grant funds will be used to purchase supplies for a Community Tree Event during the planting season. Locations will be selected from proposals received from interested neighborhoods, schools, parks, and other campuses identified to have a high planting capacity.

KCB's activities are designed to promote partnership between citizens, private organizations, businesses, and government agencies to ensure the City of Charlotte sustains a clean and healthy environment.

If you'd like additional information, please visit www.treescharlotte.org or call 704-577-2004.

Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) was founded in 1974 and is one of the nation's first Keep America Beautiful affiliates.  The board works closely with neighborhood organizations and homeowner's groups, as well as with area businesses, schools and local governments to achieve its goals. KCB's objective is to enhance the quality of life for Charlotteans by maintaining and improving the cleanliness and beauty of our city.
