City of Charlotte Preconstruction Notification and Preconstruction Meeting Request

For projects involving less than one acre of land disturbance but have gone through City of Charlotte Land Development plan review are simply required to notify City inspection staff prior to commencing work on-site. Fill out only sections 1, 2, and 3 below and submit the form.

For projects involving more than one acre of land disturbance, the developer and/or contractor should submit this form to request a preconstruction meeting. Fill out sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 below and submit the form.

Once received, this will be forwarded to the Construction Inspector who will contact you to schedule the meeting.

Effective April 1, 2013 for projects that have a total cost of construction of $30,000.00 or greater:
With the passing of Senate Bill 42 (session law 2012-158), no grading permit shall be issued unless the property owner designates a Lien Agent. To select a Lien Agent, go to the North Carolina Department of Insurance’s web site to obtain information on approved designated lien agents.
