A Transportation Project

This major roadway transportation project will build a new bridge across I-85, extending from IKEA Boulevard to IBM Drive. This project will provide east-west connectivity between the University Research Park, Belgate/Ikea development and the CATS Blue Line Extension.  It will also provide a secondary access road to James Martin Middle School. This project will construct a grade separation across I-85, but not an interchange.

  • To create multi-modal travel choices and provide connectivity.
  • To provide access to CATS future Blue Line Extension station at McCullough Drive
  • To redistribute traffic away from City Boulevard and Harris Boulevard
