A 2008 Transportation Project

This transportation project will realign/relocate Little Rock Road from Paw Creek Road to Freedom Drive.  The project will widen the existing Little Rock Road from 2 lanes to 4 lanes median divided with landscaping from Paw Creek to Flintrock. The new section of the 4 lane median divided road will be constructed from Flintrock to Freedom Drive.  The new road will tie into Freedom Drive across from the proposed Fred D. Alexander Boulevard.

The existing Little Rock Road will remain open from Flintrock Road to Freedom Drive/Moore’s Chapel/Little Rock Intersection. The existing Little Rock portion from Paw Creek to Flintrock will be removed with access being maintained to the proposed Little Rock Road Realignment.

The project will provide grading, paving, storm drainage, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk construction, bike lanes, utility relocation,  pavement markings,  street lighting, and landscaping. This project is funded from the 2008 bond.

  • The project supports the Transportation Action Plan.
  • The project will realign Little Rock Road to create a safer intersection tie in to Freedom Drive and line up directly with the future Fred D. Alexander Project for connectivity.
  • The project will also improve the multi-modal function of the designated street.

A thorough review and analysis of existing conditions compared to current and future land uses and transportation needs were conducted.
The project limits are Little Rock Road from Paw Creek to Freedom Drive.

Cost:  $6.2 million
Please note that this figure includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, signalization, permits, construction, and landscaping.

The Engineering & Property Management (E&PM) project team will manage the Little Rock Road Project through a four stage process.  Click here to learn how City projects are selected, designed and built.
