Chief of Staff Katie McCoy

​As Chief of Staff, Katie McCoy supervises the staff of the Offices of the City Manager, the Mayor and the City Council. She is the City Manager's Office lead on the Council Business Agenda development process. She lends specialized support to Ron Carlee on Mayor & Council priorities, and leads elected body and City Manager initiatives across the organization. 

Katie has worked for the City for 12 years – the last five as the Strategy Manager in Management & Financial Services – Office of Strategy & Budget.  In this role, Katie managed development of the City's Focus Area Plans, Council business agenda development process, financial partner relationships, and the City's Balanced Scorecard performance management program.  Katie received her undergraduate degree from Queens University and a Master of Public Administration degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.  She is also a graduate of the Municipal Administration Course at UNC-Chapel Hill.
