Take a look at what the Meeting covered in 2013:

CltBizResources.PNGThe program included a welcome from Mayor Patsy Kinsey, an in-depth tutorial on the new CharlotteBusinessResources.com website, lunch, and networking. There were also three workshops:

  1. Charlotte Business INClusion Workshop - In April 2013 the Charlotte City Council voted to replace the City’s Small Business Opportunity Program with the Charlotte Business INClusion program, which seeks to connect Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprises (MWSBEs) to city contracting and procurement opportunities. This workshop will provide an overview of the new Charlotte Business INClusion program, as well as review the process of becoming certified as a vendor with the city of Charlotte.

  2. Marketing Must-Haves and Best Practices Workshop - Join CGR Creative PCharlotte's International Entrepreneurs asking the Mayor Questionsresident and CEO (and small business owner), Julio Colmenares, as he explores the must-haves and best practices of marketing your business. This workshop will include such topics as online presence through web design and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and how to engage your target market through social media. All participants will receive a free competitive SEO analysis (review of SEO basics, content optimization, targeted keywords, and backlinks). Not to worry, Julio will explain what all of this means at the workshop!

  3. Small Business Lending Workshop - Did you know that the city of Charlotte administers several financial assistance programs for small businesses? This workshop will review the various financial programs available from the city and its partners, as well as how to determine the financial readiness of your business.
