Charlotte is the 18th largest city in the U.S. in total population and ranks fifth nationally in the number of Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the area. The city has been listed as one of “America’s Top 25 Arts Destinations” by AmericanStyle Magazine (2009), and has been on the National Arbor Day Foundation’s “Tree City USA” list for 29 consecutive years.
