Crime Statistical Summary for the 2nd quarter of 2015: 

CMPD ended June, 2015, with a 6.6% increase in Index Offenses compared to last year. Property crime
increased by 5.6% while violent crime increased by 12.3%.


  • 28 homicides were reported compared to 20, resulting in an increase of 40%.

  • 770 robberies were reported compared to 780, resulting in a decrease of -1.3%.

  • 137 rapes were reported compared to 125, resulting in an increase of 9.6%.
    (*93% of reported rapes involved known acquaintances)

  • 1669 aggravated assaults were reported compared to 1393, resulting in an increase of 19.8%.

  • Burglary overall was up 8.3%, (2927 compared to 2702) with an increase of 9.0% in residential (2243 compared to 2058) and an increase of 6.2% in commercial cases (684 compared to 644).

  • 996 vehicle thefts were reported compared to 756, resulting in an increase of 31.7%.

  • Total larceny cases increased by 2.7% (10738 compared to 10456) with the larcenies from auto up by 1.3% (3577 compared to 3531).‚Äč
