Project C.A.R.E.

Project C.A.R.E. is an crime awareness and reduction effort in place to help reduce Residential Burglaries and Larceny from Auto in the Providence Division Response Area 3.
  • This program's goal is to empower the community to initiate crime reduction in their specific neighborhoods.
  • Providence Division Response Area 3 has been divided into 4 zones. Each Zone has a designated Home Owner Association leader who will complete the Neighborhood Monthly Inspection Log. Community Coordinators will assign the chosen streets to be checked monthly. The areas chosen will be based on current trends of LFA and/or Residential B&E in their neighborhood.
  • Each zone will be evaluated and the neighborhood with the greatest crime reduction will be eligible to enter their name in the drawing for the raffle.
  • The raffles consist of gift certificates donated by Providence Division businesses.
  • At the end of the year, the neighborhood with the greatest crime reduction for the year will be eligible to win the Grand Prize!

Over all citizen initiated calls for service for suspicious person and occupied suspicious vehicles have increased . We still need neighborhood involvement so please continue to keep valuables out of sight in your vehicles, LOCK your car doors, and call 911 when you observe suspicious activity. We will be conducting four raffles at the April 28, 2011 meeting to reward citizen participation and involvement.

The Providence Division thanks the community for their efforts and encourages them to keep up the great work.
