The Charlotte Fire Dept is on scène at a 1-story working house fire in the 1900 block of Washington Ave just off of Oaklawn Ave. Members of the CFD arrived after making their way through icy roads to report heavy fire conditions coming from the rear area of this home.  FF's made a fast interior attack of the fire and it is NOW under control. So far no injuries. The owner who was away has returned and is working with Charlotte fire investigators to determine the cause of this early morning blaze.
