Community Dialogue on Meeting Basic Human Needs

Charlotte, NC -- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee, a division of the Charlotte City Manager's Office, in collaboration with the Community Building Initiative (CBI), and Mecklenburg Ministries, invites the public to attend a community dialogue to discuss meeting basic human needs during difficult economic times at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Little Rock AME Zion Church 410 N. McDowell Street.

The event is an opportunity for community members to talk about what they might do collectively and individually to meet the needs of those in the community who are impacted by the economic crisis. Panelists include:

Ruben Campillo, Latin American Coalition
Former Charlotte Mayor Harvey Gantt, Gantt-Huberman Architects
Carol Hardison, Crisis Assistance Ministry
John McGillicuddy, Mecklenburg County
Rick Thames, The Charlotte Observer
