The weather has had a negligible impact on traffic collisions, when compared to a typical day in Charlotte.

Since midnight we have had approximately 13 collisions with property damage and one with personal injury.  Both numbers are actually lower than what we have had for the past two nights.

Undoubtedly this is due to the fact that many people have stayed off the roads due to the inclement weather, in addition to CDOT distributing slag and paving the roads.

 Please be reminded: 

• Stay home and off the roads unless they have to get to work
• Increase following distance and decrease speed
• Stay off cell phones
• Do not use cruise control
• Use extra caution when approaching on/off ramps
