Neighborhoods May Apply for Matching Grants

Charlotte, NC -- The Neighborhood Matching Program will award funds up to $25,000 to eligible neighborhood organizations to help support projects that improve their neighborhoods.
Organizations may match the grand funds with cash, volunteer labor or in-kind donations of goods and services related to the project. Project categories are neighborhood improvement; crime and public safety; organizational development; and education, recreation and cultural initiatives.
The next Neighborhood Matching Grant program application deadline is September 15.
Pre-application workshops will be held at the following locations and times:
June 29 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Freedom Regional Library, 1230 Alleghany St.
August 4 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. West Boulevard Library, 2157 West Boulevard
August 9 from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Independence Regional Library, 6000 Conference Drive
August 13 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Sugar Creek Library, 4045 North Tryon Street
Eligible organizations include neighborhood associations, business associations and neighborhood-based community development corporations that have been organized for at least six months and are in neighborhood statistical areas with median household income not exceeding $61,117.
