CRC to Host Fair Lending Forum

Charlotte, NC -- Representatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and urban Development (HUD), National community Reinvestment Coalition and HUD-approved Housing Counseling Agencies will discuss fair lending requirements of the Federal Fair Housing Act, how to avoid predatory lending, and foreclosure alternatives at a unique forum to be held Thursday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth Street in Charlotte.

The purpose of this forum is to educate the general public, faith-based organizations and housing professionals about HUD resources and programs that can assist in eradicating unfair and discriminatory lending practices. The forum will also address issues related to foreclosure prevention and options that are available to homeowners facing foreclosures.

Attendees will be able to interact with local and national experts involved in enforcing fair lending laws, developing foreclosure prevention strategies, and operating government programs that help families remain in the homes that they have worked so hard to obtain.
