Charlotte, NC -- All City of Charlotte Administrative Offices will be closed on Friday, July 4th for the Independence Holiday. Other services such as police, fire, and transportation will continue to be operational.

The City's Solid Waste Service Department will also operate on a normal schedule, with no service changes.  Friday Sanitation customers will receive service on Friday.

Buses operated by CATS, Charlotte Area Transit System, will operate on a Sunday service schedule. Bus Route 42 Carowinds Boulevard will not operate experss service. For more information about Bus service, the Charlotte Trolley or the LYNX Blue Line call 704-336-RIDE or visit the CATS website.

July 4th Fireworks display, "Red White and Boom" will take place in the Central Piedmont Community College - Main Campus area beginning about 9:30 p.m. There will be sponsored viewing areas throughout the center with with a family location at Memorial Stadium.  The best viewing of the display will be on the east side on uptown.
