Gaston Community Action Agency will administer this program in Mecklenburg, Gaston and Union Counties.
Funding will expand the eligibility of low-income households for the Weatherization Assistance program and increasing the funding assistance level per dwelling from $2,500 per dwelling to $6,500. It provides a wide variety of energy efficiency measures including insulation, heating and cooling systems, etc.
Low income residents that are owner occupants. Low income for the purposes of this program is defined as families with incomes less than 200% of the poverty level. For a family of four that equals $43,820.
