Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department

JAG funds can be used for a variety of improvements to the criminal justice system including:
   - personnel
   - equipment
   - overtime
   - technology
   - prevention programs
   - prosecution and court programs

CMPD plans to use the funds for a number of projects including police officer overtime; development of electronic case papering system; youth programs and equipment for police vehicles.

States and local governments are eligible for funding under a formula that factors in population and violent crime.
