Competitive Grant Application Process

N.C. Dept. Environment & Natural Resources -
Air Quality Division

Funding will support clean diesel grant and loan programs administered by the State of North Carolina. The Division of Air Quality has formulated guidance that contains specific conditions for each type of eligible project. This grant program has eliminated the state match requirement and the requirement that States must fund new grants with this funding.

Projects must request funds between $500,000 - $2 million. Municipalities may submit a joint proposal to meet this threshold. All projects must be completed by September 30, 2010. The City of Charlotte will focus on on-road and off-road vehicle motor retrofits, specifically targeting 13 vehicles in the City's fleet.

Funding will support clean diesel grant and loan programs administered by North Carolina. Projects may include the implementation of verified and/or certified retrofit technologies and EPA-verified idle reduction technologies.

Application deadline is April 30, 2009
