On November 4, Charlotte citizens voted and approved $227.2 million in transportation, neighborhood and affordable housing bonds. No tax increase will be needed for the bonds.
Transportation - $170.2 million
$84.7 million will be used for major road construction projects:
$70.5 million for a combination of transportation improvements, infrastructure, and enhancements including:
Widening of rural, below standard farm-to-market roads with heavy traffic and safety concerns. Projects include:

Replacement and upgrade of coordinated traffic signals, signs and cameras

Neighborhood Improvement Projects - $47 million
This bond provides new and reconstructed infrastructure such as curb and gutter, sidewalks, streetscape and storm drainage in neighborhoods showing signs of distress such as Enderly Park, Ponderosa, McCrorey Heights, Hidden Valley and Plaza Shamrock, Eastland, and Double Oaks.
Affordable Housing - $10 million
Bond monies will be used to support the City's Housing Trust Fund, which will leverage private dollars to increase the development of affordable housing for low and moderate-income families.
