Recycling Drop-Off Centers for Small Businesses

The Mecklenburg County Solid Waste Department offers free commercial drop-off centers to business parks and small business owners that are interested in promoting recycling in their area. The drop-off centers can help reduce regular garbage costs while providing a cost-effective way for small businesses to recycle. 

For qualifying applicants, the County will place the container at your facility and collect it free of charge. The containers must be placed in areas that are accessible to the public and the availability of the collection boxes must also be advertised to other businesses in the area. Companies that generate larger quantities of waste and are required to recycle paper and cardboard under the Source Separation Ordinance are not eligible for the program. If you would like to host a business recycling center, please fill out this application and either fax it to Lexin's attention at 704-336-4314, or scan and e-mail it to Lexin Murphy at Lexin.Murphy@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov. Volunteer sites will be considered based on availability of containers and proximity to existing sites.
