Meck Teen Summer Camp: Register Now! Ages 12-15
A traditional day camp for youth in middle/high school (Participants should have completed 6th grade). Travel with us as we participant in games, 4-H enrichment activities, leadership development, performing and cultural arts, chef classes,  nature activities, fitness fun, field trips, swimming and guest speakers. Camp will be closed on July 4th
• Only $55 per week
• M-F (7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.)

Youth Athletics:
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year. All youth athletics programs are Recreation Center based and take place at various parks and recreation centers throughout Mecklenburg County. Mentoring Matter Program for Teens
This mentoring program will provide students with adult mentors that will provide support and guidance through graduation. Students will have contact with their mentor throughout each week and participate in FUN activities such as field trips, college tours, recreational/leisure opportunities, character building, entrepreneurship, and listen to a vast of guest speakers. This program takes place every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Rays Play
Rays Play is designed to keep children active and develop cognitive, social, physical and emotional learning styles. Preschoolers and parents will learn, explore and interact with age appropriate crafts.  Classes are held every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (Excluding Summer Months) $2 per Class.  For more information please email NaomiDrenanRecreationCenter@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov

NDRC Sky Hy Step/Drill Team
Our goal is to provide structure and consistency for youth to perform in a safe, equitable and family-friendly atmosphere. We aim to provide leadership and character building programs, enrichment clinics and local competitions.  Come be apart of one of the best youth step teams in Charlotte, NC. All practices will be closed sessions starting in January 14th and ending June 7th on Monday’s and Wednesday’s 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

North Carolina Dance Community Outreach:
This program provides free, accessible, high quality dance instruction and performance opportunities to over 41 students here at the recreation center from ages 7 to 10. Selection for this program will be determined by open auditions for boys and girls, financial need and commitment of the parents to the program. Contact the center to find out when then next audition will be.

Mecklenburg County Recreation Employment Corp Program a work-based learning program employing youth as a Employee/Mentee at a neighborhood recreation facility. Each employee is paired with a Park and Recreation Manager who is the Supervisor/Mentor that will provide close supervision and guidance during the 40 week program. Teens ages 14-17 who are a current program participant or resident of a community in the facility service area.
