Naomi Drenan Recreation Center offers ongoing programs for children and adults such as after school, fitness classes, ballet, and much more.  Visit Eparks to sign up for one of our many programs.
X-Treme Teen Summer Camp - A traditional day camp Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm for youth ages 12-16 in middle/high school (Participants should have completed 6th grade) for $65.00 per week.   Travel with us as we participant in games, 4-H enrichment activities, outdoor play and nature activities, fitness, field trips, swimming arts and crafts and guest speakers.  For more information, contact or call us at 704.432.5231.  No Camp on July 4th.

Youth Athletics:
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year. All youth athletics programs are Recreation Center based and take place at various parks and recreation centers throughout Mecklenburg County. 4H Film Making  - Come discover how to develop, produce, and edit your own movie FREE every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Naomi Drenan Recreation Center.  This program is offered at Naomi Drenan, West Charlotte, and Tuckaseegee Recreation Center.  For more information, contact or call 704.432.5231.
NDRC Prevention – NDRC offers a prevention program that will help youths and teens develop critical thinking and decision making skills, and show other useful methods to assist with the prevention of drug use, and abuse. This class is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.  For more information, contact or 704.432.5231.
Cougar Training Club: Track
This training program focuses on the necessary skills and training to participate in Track events.  Activities include plyometrics, techniques, learning the philosophy of track, strength training, and more!  For more information, contact Izell Twiggs at

Lil Sista:
This program, founded by Erica Strong, is designed to show young women (ages 11-16) their self worth.  The team will help guide, inspire, and uplift the girls in hopes of becoming intelligent, respectable, strong young women

NDRC Sky Hy Step/Drill Team:
Our goal is to provide structure and consistency for youth to perform in a safe, equitable and family-friendly atmosphere. We aim to provide leadership and character building programs, enrichment clinics and local competitions.  Come be apart of one of the best youth step teams in Charlotte, NC. All practices will be closed sessions starting September 4th and ending June 11th on Monday’s and Wednesday’s 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
North Carolina Dance Community Outreach:
This program provides free, accessible, high quality dance instruction and performance opportunities to over 41 students here at the recreation center from ages 7 to 11. Selection for this program will be determined by open auditions for boys and girls, financial need and commitment of the parents to the program. Contact the center to find out when then next audition will be.






Ray Play Toddler Time
This ongoing program is designed to keep children active as they develop cognitive, social, physical, and emotional skills.  Preschoolers and parents will learn, explore, and interact in age appropriate games and activities.  Ray Play is held every Tuesday from 10:30am-11:30am.  Cost is only $10 per month!

Women’s Empowerment Group - Women join together every 2nd Saturday of each month from 2:00pm to 4:00pm for FREE sessions of encouragement from their peers and seniors to participate in discussions such as relationships, careers, parenting, financial literacy and more. Senior “Coffee & Pastry” Art Therapy - Art classes implementing a variety of techniques for seniors ages 50 & up every 2nd Wednesday of each month from 11:00am to 12:00pm.  Materials included in cost.  For more information, contact or call 704.432.5231.

Men's Fellowship: 
Monday through Friday from 10am-5pm, men ages 18 and up are welcome to come play pick up basketball during lunch breaks or to get exercise on your day off.  $2 per person.
