Ray’s Playhouse:
Ray’s Playhouse is open to children and families during all operation hours. The Playhouse is full of toys, games, activities, and even kid friendly computers! Bring along the family, neighbors, friends and Mom’s club for your next play date at Ray’s Playhouse. Daily admission into the Playhouse is a dollar per child ages 1-6 years old, children under the age of 1 have free admission.
Broadway Babies:
Create a world of make believe in this drama class for your kids! Each week kids will follow themes that include animals, superheroes, prince/princesses, fairytale characters, occupations, and more! Kids get into character and role-play while having bundles of fun with activities, arts & crafts, and theatre games while exploring self-expression and making new friends. Creative Expressions: Art for Tots
Drop off your little artist off for an imaginative art experience! The creative process will be explored as we enjoy art making and art history. Children will learn how to use mixed media to create stunning masterpieces. This class will also focus on building your child's motor skills and creative problem solving skills. Please dress for a mess and have students wear smocks. Classes will be taught by Instructor Carrie Vasquez who has earned a Master's Degree in Art Education and has been teaching art for over 16 years. My First Discovery Music Class: MusicPups
Moms and children attend this one of a kind music class together! Classes involve singing, playing instruments, dancing, stories and fun! This 45 minute class is packed full with all dynamics of music appropriate for your child which will keep them singing and dancing all week long! This class is for newborn children to 4 years old and is perfect for moms, dads, grandparents, and nannies with their children. Visit The Music Class for more information!

Wacky Holiday:
Each week children will explore a new wacky holiday such as Elmo’s Birthday or National Teddy Bear Day! Each week holds a new theme and children will listen to a story and create a one-of-a-kind craft or activity. Parent participation is required at all times. Pre-registration is preferred. Wild Wednesdays:
Children will burn lots of energy in this wild and crazy class! Each week is a new adventure with relays, obstacles courses, races, games, sports skills, parachute games and more while working on their large motor skills in a non-threatening environment. Children will be introduces to the world of dance and learn the fundamental positions and movements of the style they are enrolled in. These classes are designed for children who love music and want to dance! Participants will concentrate on creative movement using large-motor skills choreographed to all their favorite songs. Start Smart Sports:
This program is for children to learn the basic fundamental of a specific sport in a non-threatening environment. Throughout the program children will be taught a variety of skills needed to play the game with the opportunity to work one-on-one with their parent. Parents are required to participate at all practices with their child, as they serve as their partners for stations and drills. Children will receive various supplies needed for the program and to take home. Sports rotate throughout the year.

Youth Athletics:
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year. All youth athletics programs are Recreation Center based and take place at various parks and recreation centers throughout Mecklenburg County. Young Champions Self-Defense:
Young Champions has developed one of the most exciting and comprehensive martial arts systems, specialized for teaching children and teens. Young Champions has incorporated the most effective defense techniques from many martial art systems with a comprehensive safety awareness course to develop an unparalleled curriculum for our students. Young Champions Cheerleading:
Young Champions combines pom & cheerleading into one program. Students are taught cheerleading techniques such as cheers and chants with arm motions, jumps, leaps and mounts. Students are also taught pom dance routines and pom “parade” routines. We have incorporated the most modern and current dance techniques into our curriculum, and developed teaching methods that work best for children and teens. Broadway Superstar Actor’s
Begin to learn the basics of acting through activities, arts & crafts and theatre games in this 8 week drama program. Participants will learn the basics of scripts, characters, plots, personification, staging, sets, and acting. DanceOut! is a dance-inspired fitness class that feels like more like a party than a workout. Jam to HOT tunes from many different musical genres, including Hip Hop, Latin, Pop, Swing, Oldies, Reggae and More! The moves are simple and repetitive so everyone can do it, plus you will move your entire body and have fun while doing it! Line Dance:
