Memorial Stadium is a 19,000 seat outdoor sports facility. The facility is able to handle a wide arrange of sport and leisure activities, such as large outdoor concerts, festivals, college or high school football, soccer, rugby, and lacrosse.

The Future of the Stadium 

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is in the process of developing a new masterplan for the American Legion Memorial Stadium and the Grady Cole Center. The following documents address the structural assessment that was conducted on the stadium and provide feedback from the Nov. 17, 2011 community workshop and the Feb. 16, 2012 stakeholder meeting.
