Guidelines for Visitation

All inmates, regardless of custody security level, are permitted to have visits with family, friends, attorney's and other authorized officials, within the facilities, under the conditions consistent with the security of those facilities, unless those privileges are suspended for disciplinary sanctions.

 NOTE: AN INMATE HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE  REGULAR VISITATION.

Visitor Requirements

The visitation officer will approve all visitors in accordance with the following guidelines:

  • Children under the age of (16) sixteen, are to be accompanied by a Parent or legal guardian.
  • Spouses of inmates and married visitor's who are under the age of (18) eighteen years of age are considered adults.
  • All adult visitors (16) sixteen years of age or older will be required to identify themselves properly with acceptable identification such as:
    •  Passport
    • Special Identification Card obtained from the Division of Motor Vehicles
    • Military Identification Card
  • Person's determined to constitute a threat to the security of the facility, will be excluded from an approved visitation list and also removed from the facility.
  • All visitor names will be checked for outstanding warrants.
  • Visitors must conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
  • Persons who are unruly and/or under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will be denied visitation.
  • Visitors must be clothed in a manner considered appropriate in a public setting.  The following are inappropriate, (this is not a complete list):
    • Mini skirts.
    • Short shorts.
    • Stomach or cleavage exposed.
  • Footwear must be worn at all times.
  • No bags will be allowed beyond the visitor's lobby.  

Introduction of contraband into the facility may result in arrest and criminal prosecution.
