Household Construction & Demolition Debris:
Mecklenburg County will accept residents' wood waste (framing timbers, pallets, crates, spools, sheathing, treated lumber/decking), inert material (concrete, brick, asphalt pavement, mortar, sheet rock, rock, gravel), plastic (pipe, buckets, wrap), and other (shingles, fiberglass bath fixtures, tile, ceramic, carpet, padding). Residents will be charged $22 per pickup truck or trailer 12 feet or less. This service is available to residents only. Businesses can take C&D waste to the Foxhole Landfill, 17131 Lancaster Highway, 704-341-4962.

Mecklenburg County helps residents safely dispose of their household hazardous waste (HHW). Most HHW may be taken the North Mecklenburg Recycling Center, Hickory Grove Recycling Center, West Mecklenburg Recycling Center and Foxhole Recycling Center where it is collected by ECOFLO, a licensed HHW transfer, storage and disposal facility. Call 704-336-5359, for a brochure about what constitutes HHW and how to store and prepare it for transfer to these recycling centers.

Other:
This center also accepts household garbage (which is everything else that can't be recycled or composted) and bulky waste items (mattresses, chairs, etc.) from county residents at no charge for disposal.
