"Fusion of Mecklenburg Women and Culture: An Evening of Poetry and Prose," is an observance of National Women's History Month and a celebration of the diverse experiences and creative voices of local women.

Several women of different ethnicities and ages will share their original poetry and prose work based on their cultures, life experiences, and perspectives to help present a global view of what it means to be a woman. See a list of the scheduled speakers.

Some of the women will represent the voices of:
  • A Muslim American woman of Palestinian descent
  • An Italian woman in America
  • A Latina woman in America
  • An Asian woman in America
  • An African American woman in America
  • The elder generation of women in America
  • Women who have lost babies
  • Women affected by domestic violence
  • Women and "All the Hats We Wear"
