MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT (S): There is no membership. Trustees are elected from interested persons in the community. Services are provided to non-violent female offenders who have small children or who are pregnant.

PURPOSE AND/OR MISSION OF ASSOCIATION/ORGANIZATION/AGENCY:
Summit House Charlotte provides residential and therapeutic services to women (and their children) who would otherwise be incarcerated for non-violent illicit transgressions.

MAJOR PLANNED PROGRAMS/PROJECTS/SERVICES:
Summit House Charlotte currently operates a residence for six families and has been considering expansion of services for the past three years.   This has reached fruition as we have acquired a new 10-bedroom residence (currently under renovation) and expect to move our families around the first of November (2007).
