PURPOSE AND/OR MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION/ORGANIZATION/AGENCY:
The mission of Council on Aging is to transform Charlotte-Mecklenburg into a senior-friendly community through education and advocacy.

FUNDING: Council on Aging is a private, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization supported by donations from committed and caring individuals, corporations, organizations, foundations, bequests, and local government.

MAJOR PLANNED PROJECTS / EVENTS

Annual Conference - held every May in honor of Older Americans Month

Legislative Agenda on Aging - held every February to educate the general public and elected officials on what Council on Aging envisions as a truly senior-friendly* community and current priorities for reaching that goal.

Candidates' Forum - Held every October to provide an opportunity to hear viewpoints, ask questions and express concerns about issues and legislation important to the quality of life for our aging population.
