Multiway stops are useful safety measures at some intersections. Multiway stops reduce speeds in neighborhoods by having motorists stop at designated intersections. CDOT will install multiway stops at some intersections because of special safety or traffic flow problems, but where a traffic signal is not justified. The locations where multiway stops can be installed are limited to intersections that meet the guidelines described in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
