Property taxes are Mecklenburg County's largest revenue source. These taxes fund services such as fire and police, greenways and parks, local libraries and schools, and restaurant inspections.

Property taxes also fund Social Services, and help residents move from welfare to work, protect our children and senior citizens from abuse and neglect, protect our water and air from pollution, and repair and build some roads.
