Peterson Drive Storm Drainage Improvement Project
The Peterson Drive Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce flooding of streets and properties by improving roadway crossings, pipe systems, and stream channels. Stream banks will be stabilized to minimize erosion through improvements to the channel shape and through the use of selected plantings.
Objectives: - Reduce flooding at Heriot Ave., Sarah Drive, and Stuart Andrew Boulevard and nearby properties by upgrading roadway crossings, underground pipe systems and channels.

- Minimize erosion along the receiving stream by improving the channel cross-section and alignment.
Project Status Update: The project is being re-started in an attempt to coordinate with the York-Cama Neighborhood Improvement Project in the area. Prior to going on hold, the Final Planning Report was submitted by US Infrastructure (USI), the City's engineering design firm for the Peterson Drive Project. The new City project team has been working with USI to choose a design alternative for the drainage system that was analyzed during the original Planning Phase of this project, and to negotiate fees to proceed with the engineering design on the system. The City project team has also decided to expand the project limits to incorporate an adjacent drainage area. Work on the new drainage area will be expedited to bring it up to speed with the original work performed as part of the Peterson Drive Storm Drainage Improvement Project. Survey crews should be working in the area by the end of January 2008.
